How I Help The Community

My fellow Councillors and I have 9 Parish Councils within the Bathavon North Ward. We regularly attend meetings and provide encouragement and support for local initiatives, development projects and activities. We help local projects with funding from the Ward Councillors Initiative. We represent local interests, views and campaigns at council meetings and committees.

This clean roadside is one of our successful campaignsSome of our recent successes include protecting the green belt from development, identifing rural land for development in the Core Strategy and the saving of our mobile library service.  We were also able to convince the Council Leadership of the need for broadband in rural communities.

I’m keen to ensure older people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Keeping rural roads maintained throughout the year is key to ensuring the community can support itself and rural business can prosper. I am also keen to support job creation and business development in our community.

Local businesses are the lifeblood of the local economy and they need encouragement and support if they are to thrive.
